2016 Entertainment Schedule:

Main Stage:

12:00pm – DNP
dnp_1  DNP is a combination of four musicians from varying backgrounds of style and influences. Based out of the Washington DC tri-state area, DNP is a high-energy dance rock band that offers a fresh live performance experience.  They perform multiple styles of music with a kick! Rock, Blues, Funk and still some other styles.  They offer a great entertaining show, performing music that ranges from the 60′s to the most current of songs with a focus on party and dance music.

1:15pm – Sean K Preston
Sean K. Preston promo 2The music of Sean K. Preston draws heavily on the influences of the classic heartbroken sounds of Country & Western music from the 40’s through the 70’s, the honesty of the Blues by the likes of Robert Johnson and John Lee Hooker, the bombast of 50’s Rock’n’Roll, the lyrical sophistication of musical poets like Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan and Nick Cave, the raw energy of Punk and the spirituality of Mountain Gospel. His songs range from delicate laments and lullabies to fiery sermons and confessions.

2:45pm – Frederick Rock School

Frederick Rock School Logo2Frederick Rock School provides a safe after-school facility for our students. The students have all access to hang out in the lounge and play air hockey, ping pong, jam with their peers, do homework in our quiet area with Internet access or grab a bite to eat at the Rock Bar. We use a creative approach to music instruction. F.R.S. not only provides 1-on-1 private lessons for our students, we also provide the opportunity to learn in a band setting working towards a real live performance in a real rock and roll club. Students are inspired and motivated to practice when they see an exciting, reachable goal.

4:00pm – The Knight Brothers
KnightBrothers2The Knight Brothers first are all actual brothers, David (bass), Danny (percussion) are identical twins, Dean (lead vocals) and Curtis (lead guitar) were raised on a farm in Mount Airy, Maryland. Their family, like many other musical families has been engaged in music for many generations. Their father (Carl) and his brothers were the original Knight Brothers Trio, an Appalachian harmony trio playing in the mid-eastern and southern states through the late 50s and 60s.

The Knight Brothers began singing gospel music around the age of five. In 1976 they recorded their first album “Victory and Calvary” written by their father Carl, which sold 10,000 copies. They traveled up and down the east coast singing and selling records and tapes from there carpeted van which often doubled as a hotel. Gradually they honed in on their family harmonies to produce their own distinct country sound. In 1982 they won a local, state and regional competition, finishing second in the nation at the Wrangler Country Star Search, performing televised from the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee.
